“Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around a little while, you might miss it.” -Ferris Bueller
Things do change very fast on the farm. Things are barely the same two days in a row. There’s always something happen, and always something changing. A lot of the time farmers don’t really like change, especially big change, but the dairy industry changes more than most any other job out there.
Anything can happen while one is on the farm. Something will break, a cow will get loose, in the winter the barn roof can fall in (it’s happened trust me), and there’s so much more.
Of course there’s good change, but there’s also bad change. There’s injury, there’s people who work for the farm leaving due to other jobs or other things, and of course there’s the cows. Cows find something new to do every day and it always makes life exciting. And that is why no matter what anyone tells me, I will always love dairy farming.
